In Finland, the holders of this position belong to the senior hospital management boards and have to provide professional leadership to nursing and contribute broadly to the senior leadership services in their organization. A nursing directors work includes general strategic, administrative or executive supervision and requires knowledge of nursing administration policies, procedures and regulations.
