The aims of the current systematic review and meta-analysis are twofold: (a) to investigate which brain areas consistently show increased activation when making (i) moral response decisions (MRD), or (ii) making moral evaluations (ME) compared to nonmoral
or neutral decisions or evaluations; and (b) to compare brain activation patterns for these two types of moral judgements to determine shared or significant differences in brain activation. A quality assessment of the included experiments was also undertaken,
something which is often omitted from ALE studies
