Hence, both studies (Medina et al., 2000; O’Brien and Chin, 1998) have consistently revealed that children’s experience of parental conflict significantly moderated the effects of analogue conflict stimuli on their immediate cognitive functioning. Previous findings, however, were limited because no control group with nonconflict stimulus exposure was considered. This research gap was addressed in the current study.
