It is the task of the capping head to pick
up the closure in the picking station and
to apply it to the can with a predefined
force, to securely close the can.
For this the centering bell is divided into
segments, which are held together by the
o-ring , making it possible to take the
closures from the cap star of the picking
station.
The vertical movements of the capping
heads are controlled by a cam.
If the sealing processs is not properly executed
and the closure is still in the headset,
the closure is automatically ejected
when the cam moves the headset upwards.
If the cap is positioned on the headset
after the sealing process, because
screwing had not been properly carried
out, or if, despite of the gap identification
control, one cap is picked up by one of
the headsets which has no bottle
underneath, this cap is automatically
ejected by the ejector pin of the headset
during the upward movement. This forced
ejection prevents possible colliding of the
caps in the headset during the next picking
process.
