A new data analysis method was developed to deter mine the concentration of Carbofuran pesticides in this study. The peak current and two specific areas of the cyclic voltammograms were calculated and served as the depen dent variables. The predetermined concentrations of Car bofuran pesticides with vegetable juices were used the as independent variables. The results indicated two new area indexes have better precision than that the peak current. No relationship could be established between the peak current and the standard concentrations. The numeric va- lue calculated from the area between 0.5 V and 0.9 V of the cyclic voltammogram was found as the best index va- lue. The precision of this index was better than that of the other two indexes. The accuracy of the calibration equation was within 5 ppm by the adequate calibration equation. The results of this study indicated the new data analysis cyclic method provided a novel technique to treat the cyc lic voltammograms and to detect the concentrations of the Carbofuran pesticides. This method could be applied for other vegetables. The calculation of the limits of detection (LOD) and sensitivity analysis for high-order polynomial calibration that used in this study needed to be developed.
