Thailand are just one step away from reclaiming the SEA Games title after reaching the final of the men's soccer competition with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Singapore in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar yesterday.
Praweenwat Boonyong's first half penalty sent the 13-time champions Thailand into their final for the first time in four years after the country suffered back-to-back group stage exit in the previous two editions of the biennial event in Laos and Indonesia respectively.
They will face Indonesia who they beat 4-1 in the group stage in the final in Myanmar's new capital, Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
