Hi All,
There is Win7 Automated Migration Tool (AMT) being piloted at some AP sites and to be rolled out to all the sites in the next few months. This AMT is aimed for users to do the Win7 migration by themselves.
As a global commitment to Delphi, EUC team will help to create the USB disks for Delphi when it is needed. Please make sure you follow below instruction when you create this USB disk for Delphi.
It is very important that you build these disks in a special way:
Only install both Win7-Builds, the migration-cache and the language packs on it, no XP-Builds, no USB Toolsets
As for the support process, our global team has clarified that there is no onsite support provided to help users through a self-migration (AMT). Any issues, users need to call the Service Desk. Below is the process sent to Delphi PM (Alice Chow) and asked to forward to the SDMs.
LASTLY - but VERY important... If a user encounters any issues with their AMT they MUST contact the Service Desk and get a ticket opened. This ensures that the proper technical resources are engaged to fix the issue. This is the FASTEST way for a user to get assistance. This also allows the Program Team to analyze issues and implement permanent corrective action.
According to our global team, most of such tickets will go to Build Center but few may go to EUC queue where there is hardware issue and the user cannot kick off the migration.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
