Concentration of soluble sugars such as: mannitol, fructose, sucrose,
and maltose was determined utilizing High Performance Liquid Chromatography
(HPLC). Ethanolic extracts were used for HPLC analysis of
sugars. Ethanol was evaporated from samples by heating to 60 °C and homogenised in acetonitrile:HPLC grade water in the ratio of 80:20.
