This is the first time that use of territory by musk deer and their daily activities have been studied using radio telemetry in Russia.
In general, the sizes of habitat areas calculated using this method are consistent with the results obtained using other methods of tracking and studying of musk deer ecology (Zaitsev, 1991, 2006).
Accumulation of new data and analysis of the results obtained within the current program have practical importance for musk deer population management in Sikhote-Alin and can be used in the development of recommendations for environmental protection in other regions.
