Band 2: Formats used for resource description; examples are Dublin Core and Resource (ROADS)templates. (ROADS)templates are used by the subject service which use the ROADS software. The templates are a development of the Internet Anonymous (FTP) Archive (IAFA)
templates outlined in an IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) Internet draft in 1994.
Services that use these types of formats include the OCLC's NetFirst, subject gateways created under the eLib programme, and so on. Metadata records may be created manually or automatically.
