The effects of global warming are varied and frightening. It would eventually affect the entire Earth, its people, land, and animals. Studies have already begun to document occurrences around the globe of these effects. These include records of high temperatures (in Tibet, Nepal Afghanistan, Egypt, Kenya, etc), droughts, bodies of water drying up, coral reef bleaching, spread of diseases (outbreak of Malaria in Kenya), and plant and animal pattern shifts. The process has not only started but already past developing. While countries are only beginning to talk about the problem and have not yet taken any major steps to slow the process.
It has been predicted that there will be a significant rise in sea level and increased levels of precipitation both of which will lead to mass flooding. Many part of the Earth are already below or near sea level and this would cause great amounts of land to be submerged under water. Superstorms will also wreak havoc on the Earth and its inhabitants. Hurricanes of category 4 or 5 are expected as well as erratic patterns that are hard to track or predict. All of the increased precipitation could also lead to an increase of evaporation which would lead to erosion and desertification. Global warming will also affect all aspects of life on Earth. Many of the current plant and animal species will become extinct as the weather changes destroy or change their habitats. New species might also develop that can survive in the new habitats and climates. The ramifications of global warming are endless and they continue to offset more and more aspects of life.
