2.3. Sample extraction
The freeze-dried pulp of strawberry fruits was extracted three
times with MeOH/H2O (70:30) at room temperature with a
blender for 5 min per extraction, and the combined extract
was dried in vacuo. The extract was suspended in water and
sequentially partitioned three times with hexane, chloroform,
EtOAc, and n-butanol. The combined hexane, chloroform,
EtOAc, and n-butanol fractions were dried in vacuo. All the extracts
were tested in the DPPH and in the nitric oxide (NO)
inhibitory assays
