Conclusion
Overall, postoperative pain management in children
requires paying more attention to the provision of necessary
infrastructures, conditions, human resources, and educational
measures. Based on our findings, healthcare providers
should strengthen their role in the management and
prevention of postoperative pain. They need to manage
postoperative pain by performing beyond the routine,
applying appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological
measures, establishing active communications, providing the
necessary training to and involving the parents. In addition,
healthcare providers should also provide conditions through
which the parents and children can participate actively and
knowledgably in various aspects of the postoperative pain
management of those children.
