They are arguments. All of the pictures give different arguments for or against violent media. The first image suggest that crime decreased at the release of violent video games. However, the cartoon says how the issue can be manipulated because it is impossible to prove violent video games cause violence without speculation.
4. The words are necessary. For the second image, the words get the main idea across, and for the other pictures they explain what the picture is showing.
6. The visuals are aimed at both those who promote violent video games and those against it because each visual presents a different side of the story. Together the visuals are saying that depending on how you show the data, violent video games can or cannot contribute to violence.
