Proper storage facilities must be provided in order to conserve not only the collector's timeand expense, but the valuable specimens as well. The time has come when repetitious collecting must be avoided in order to conserve and maintain natural plant and animal populations. Specimens preserved in liquid should be tightly sealed, along with internal label containing field data, and kept in a dark place. Vials should be placed in airtight jars of convenient size to prevent excessive evaporation. Specimens mounted on herbarium
