Namibia is a country with a variety of ethnic groups, one of which is called the Herero. Today, Hereros make up only about 7 percent of Namibia's 2.1 million people, but the distinctive traditional dresses worn by some Herero women and the group's tragic history of genocide make them one of the most memorable groups. A detailed description about Herero culture can be found on Mwalimushi Kamati-Chinkoti's website My Beautiful Namibia and you can read about more of their history at The Cardboard Box.
