His past history and family history were not remarkable. At presentation, he was 165 cm in height and 68 kg in weight. Despite a limping gait, he was capable of walking unaided. There was no abnormality in alignment of the lower extremities and no deformation of the feet. While pain during weight bearing and mild tenderness were observed on the lateral side of the left foot, there was no swelling and no heat sensation. Blood test at presentation showed no inflammatory findings, with C-reactive protein level of 0 mg/dL and 1-hour erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 2 mm. Imaging studies at presentation showed no definitive abnormal finding on plain radiographs
