Use of digital devices
Students are asked to bring Internet access devices to class in order to use them in classroom for their individual research. Or, just use them any time when you think your lecturer might be wrong.
Class Attendance
At least 80% class attendance is mandatory for passing the subject. Students are expected to attend classes full‐time. Students who attend less than 80% of the classroom hours without an acceptable excuse (doctor’s note, permission by the Director of IIS‐RU, etc.) will receive grade ‘I’ (incomplete). Those who attend the course for 50% or less of the classroom hours fail the course (grade ‘F’). In case of serious reasons for absence, please clear it with your program coordinator first.
Class Hours
Classes begin at 9 a.m. (not at 9.30 a.m., please) and end at 4 p.m. In case of work‐intensive home work assignments, classes can finish earlier in order to give the student time for research.
Grading and Evaluation Criteria
The maximum number of points available in this course is 100 points:
• Four search assignments with proper references carry up to 15 grade points each, the Final Assignment carries up to 40 grade points (total = 100). One search assignment may consist of several questions. Minimum length is one page, so please describe how you searched and what you learned about the search topic.
Formal requirements: Printed in Arial 12pt font, single‐line spacing, with proper references of the sources used. Make sure the links in your references are usable, so don’t use any links that need more than one line of text. White paper without decoration.
