Fig. 5a. In the Ca–Mg–Zn ternary system,
it appears that the Zn content has a notable effect on the biocorrosion
rate of the system. There is a linear correlation between the Zn
content and mass loss rate (Fig. 5b), as discussed in Section 4.2.
Compositions with the highest zinc content (30 at.%), smallest
(Ca + Mg):Zn ratio (2.33), correlated to a lower mass loss rate relative
to the other compositions.
