The above results revealed that the adsorption capacity of MgOS nanomaterial was higher than the other adsorbents. This may be due to the strong adsorption affinity of MgOS toward the dye is probably due to its small particle size, highest surface area and pore volume coupled with electrostatic forces of attraction involved. Further it possesses more reactive surfaces due to the presence of high concentrations of edge/corner sites and other defects than the MgON and MgOU adsorbents.
