High pressure is in control of our weather pattern heading into Thanksgiving Day causing a dry air mass to filter down into the region. The dry conditions will create excellent radiational cooling tonight and lows in the morning will be in the middle 40s with upper 30s in the Hill Country. Thanksgiving Day will be pleasant with partly cloudy skies and a light easterly wind. Temperatures will be in the low 70s for the afternoon.
Long term – Moisture returns to the area Thursday night ahead of a fast moving upper level disturbance in the atmosphere. This disturbance will cause a cold front to drop into the area Friday and could fire up a few showers and a thunderstorm. Rain chances end by late in the afternoon Friday as a cool front sweeps across South Central Texas, The weekend will bring cool mornings and mild afternoons with lows near 50 and highs near 70. Rain chances could return Sunday night into Monday ahead of another cold front
