2.3. Lipids extraction
Lipids were extracted with a chloroform–methanol
mixture (1:2 v/v) according to Bligh Dyer (1959). About
1.0 g (70.1 mg) of snail sample was homogenized with achloroform–methanol (1:2 v/v) solution for 2 min, followed
by the addition of chloroform and deionized water mixed
for 30 s. The chloroform layer was separated from the
methanol–water layer. The lipid solution was transferred to
a flask and the solvent was evaporated in a rotatory
evaporator kept at approximately 371C. Lipid content was
determined gravimetrically.
