Most notably, all the literature was written during the reign of King Rama II of Thailand (1809-1824), the golden age of Rattanakosin literature. There were three main reasons which made his reign the golden age of Rattanakosin literature. The first reason was Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai, King Rama II was dubbed the “Poet King” because of his ability and his devotion to Thai literature. The other reasons were that a lot of famous Thai literature was written in that period and that many Thai poets were greatly supported by the King in that era.
