The outbreak could inflict a $2 billion hit on South Korea, according to Barclays, or 0.14 percent of its forecast for 2015 output, with hotels and restaurants among sectors most affected.
Despite the new cases, the Health Ministry said the first big wave of infections traced to a hospital in the city of Pyeongtaek, which has been shut, seemed to have run its course, with no new infections among the latest batch.
It said it expected a similar pattern at a medical centre in Seoul, with 34 cases, including 17 of those reported on Monday.
"The ministry believes the number of patients at the hospital will either stagnate or fall this week," it said.
A team of WHO experts is due to evaluate the response to the outbreak and advise on further measures.
South Korea's new cases bring the total of MERS cases globally to 1,236, based on World Health Organization (WHO) data, with at least 445 related deaths.
