The results of the analysis of the Markov model point out several differences between the broadcasts and the traditional classrooms. Pupils had longer turns in the broadcasts, while the
periods of silence were shorter in the broadcasts, so that the pupils actually had more verbal time in the broadcasts than in the traditional classrooms. In traditional classrooms, however, pupils had the
opportunity to initiate verbal exchanges, which did not occur in the broadcasts. The Markov model, however, did not fit well.
