We find that the quality of content is advanced and reinforced when two or three subgroups meet separately and report back to the total group. Our experience is that the subgroups usually agree in their overall conclusions, which adds credibility and validity to the points being made. Also, the feedback tends to be more honest and objective when we ask subgroups to meet in separate rooms instead of with the CEO.
