During methanol to gasoline conversion (MTG) process devel-opment using ZSM-5, methanol was observed to dehydrate on the catalyst acidic sites, converting to dimethyl ether first (Li et al., 2015; He et al., 2013). Subsequently, an equilibrium mixture of methanol, dimethyl ether and water was converted into light olefins, finally forming a heavy olefin mixture, normal and isoparaffins, aromatics and naphthenes
