Preparation of alginate and gelling solution
Sodium alginate powder was dispersed in distilled water to produce
alginate solutions of desired concentrations (i.e., 5–45 g/L).
The solutions were left standing for 24 h to disengage bubble before
use. A calcium chloride dihydrate solution of 15 g/L was prepared
by dissolving CaCl2·2H2O powder in distilled water.
