In USA, the Americans Dutky and Hough (1955) and
the Czechoslovakian Weiser (1955) found another
entomopathogenic nematode, Steinernema carpocapsae
DD-136 strain, which was tested against the codling moth.
The use and application of this nematode and S. glaseri
marked the beginning of a new era for the implementation
of entomopathogenic nematodes in biological control.
