Table 1 shows a generally good agreement of the experimental
and theoretical values of lm for glass samples. The significant errors
between the experimental and theoretical values exist in some
cases will mainly be attributed to the non-stoichiometry of glass
formula ratio after melting at high temperature. The lm of the
Bi2O3 glass and PbO glass is comparable, and higher than that of
the BaO glass. These results were due to the lower photoelectric
absorption of BaO glass as shown in Fig. 3 (calculated by
WinXCom).
