Zinc sulfide (ZnS) is known to exist in two modifications (or polymorphs). One from has the zinc blende structure (face-centered cubic Bravais lattice; a = 0.5406 nm), and the other form has the wurtzite structure (hexagonal Bravais lattice; a = 0.3821 nm, c= 0.6257 nm, and c/a = 1.6375 nm).
