Another day, another heap of updates on the same names swirling around the transfer rumour mill.
No new links to add to the list, but a few updates on the familiar names worth mentioning in this morning’s collection of gossip across the print and digital media.
Raheem Sterling seems a good place to start, with the Daily Star claiming that a £50m deal could be struck for the England international in time for the Australia tour.
However, a little digging beyond the headline reveals not for the start of the tour – which departs on Thursday.
Jeremy Cross and Ian Whittell report: “Etihad bosses are confident of striking a deal with Liverpool for the England winger before the end of next week.
“It is doubtful an agreement will be reached before Manuel Pellegrini's squad leave on Thursday, but the Chilean remains hopeful Sterling will link-up with his men midway through the tour.
“City have seen two bids of up to £40m rejected, with the Reds holding out for £50m.
“Starsport understands City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is willing to meet the asking price and knows agreeing personal terms with Sterling will be a formality.
“City are convinced the Reds will accept £45m in cash - plus an extra £5m depending on Sterling's success at the Etihad.
“The deal would smash City's transfer record and make Sterling the most expensive Englishman in history.”
No significant Pogba stories this morning but fear not, Kevin De Bruyne is here for all your regular transfer rumour needs.
He’s not leaving the headlines any time soon, with today’s update suggesting PSG are ready to match City’s valuation and salary package, and have already held talks with his agent – if the Daily Mail is to be believed.
The paper’s Sami Mokbel writes: “Manchester City will have to push the boat out even further to land Kevin de Bruyne this summer after Paris Saint-Germain emerged as serious contenders for his signature.
“City are prepared to bid £50million for the Belgium international after Manuel Pellegrini made him a prime summer target.
“But cash-rich PSG held talks with De Bruyne's representative over the weekend, expressing their desire to capture the former Chelsea man.
“And the French club are ready to match City's valuation and their financial power means they can offer De Bruyne just as lucrative a salary package as the Etihad Stadium club.
