BSNs can also be used for behavioural studies to measure physiological reactions. A physiological reaction is a sudden gesticulation instigated by a visual or auditory stimulant. Unlike character animation, a behavioural study does not require
full-body motion capture. Sensors are placed only on relevant body parts that are particularly suggestive of the subject’s cognition. We plan to use three smartphones to track the behaviour of subjects viewing television adverts by recording upper body (torso and shoulders) movements.
