Recently, it was announced television producer Howard Gordon (along with the help of Richard Price) would be teaming up with 20th Century Fox Television to adapt the BBC series, Inside Men, for American Television. Should the series make it to air (and if nothing else changes), it will mark the fifth series Gordon and his team have in production including Homeland on Showtime, 24 on Fox, Tyrant on FX and Legends on TNT. The reason this is important to note is because Gordon isn’t the only producer with an unprecedented amount of series in various stages of development. Shonda Rhimes, Alex Kurtzman and Robero Orci, and Chuck Lorre will all have a minimum of three series on the air this year. Looking at that list, we have to start asking, is the tradition of having the same set of people handle multiple shows at once hurting television as a whole?
