The future may bring developments in non-command user interfaces, which from the user's point of view will
probably appear as being largely intuitive by providing an 'intelligent' interface making use of information based
on previous user interactions with the system. Advances h "transparent' interfaces, e.g. speech recognition and
synthesis, the harnessing of human cognitive activities plus developments in Virtual Reality and display screen
technologies allowing touch, handwriting and gestures to be used, could all be hypothesised to become a reality
for users in the future.
