6 MACHINING RESULTS
In order to evaluate the effect of dynamic tool inclination
angle optimisation. the test part show in Figure 3. has
been machined on a five-axis milling machine.
A L Z ~MJ C I JO.h~a s been selected as workpiece material
and a flat-end tool of 20 mm diameter has been used.
The gouging tolerance has been set to be 1pm. The
feed direction was parallel to the Y-axis (Fgure 3) and
23 tool path tracks have been generated over the
surface. Two machining strategies. a variable optimised
and a constant inclination angle. have been applied. The
constant inclination angle was set to 19.3'. which
