Therefore, HR professionals and managers need to be emotionally intelligent by deal with problems or handle difficult situations and develop good relationships with clients. Emotional intelligent defined as the ability to understand or manage our emotions in positive ways to interact with others. The knowledge and understanding of emotional intelligence is used in the development of senior management. These emotions are to support the managers and employees of using emotional intelligence and to understand in the organization.
According to the theories of emotions and emotional development, there are two theories which are discrete emotions theory and functionalist perspective. All the discrete emotions and patterns of emotions are accompanied by a particular set of facial reactions. For the functionalist perspective, it emphasizes to environment influences to emotional development and to focus on action that achieves personal goals. To understand the evolution of emotion, Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theories proposed that emotions evolved because they had adaptive value and allowed humans and animals to survive and reproduce. Most importantly, Charles Darwin claimed that the expression of emotions involves many systems and it was consistent with his theories on evolution and thus should be expressed similarly across race or culture. Each theory is difference related to emotional expression.
In addition, to develop a positive emotion, social smiles are very significant and must always try to smile directed at people. The features of emotional development are to establish relationships, to manage strong emotions with people. Moreover, the ability to regulate emotions are important to social competence, defined as the set of positive social skills and get along well with others. For the emotional competence are divided into three competent such as competent emotional expressivity, competent emotional knowledge and competent emotional regulation. On the other hand, our personal appearances and the image of ourselves are very essential to us in workplace that how we should behave well.
