If I wasn't a veteran traveller to Bangkok I would hdve never stayed here. Ranked at #504 on tripadvisor? I would have skipped right past this place. The first few times I went to Bangkok I booked my hotel through latestays or hotels.com , utilizing tripsdvisor reviews as back up. I found that while some places are reviewed well, they might not be exactly where I wanted to be. This time I flew to bangok with the first few days prebooked at a sawasdee inn . Then on the day before my checkout I took the bts , to the nana station (where I wanted to be) and I literally walked into every hotel in a 3 block radius. The winner by far was the top inn. After seeing the rooms I was blown away! There are actually bathtubs ! And everything looked and smelled clean. For a test I dropped a potato chip on the floor. In the sawasdee there was a trail of bugs on it the next day, at the top inn nothing. The room was ridiculously large for the price I paid for a week in advance it was $36 a night! The hotel is really really small I think about 14 rooms straight up(2 per floor). In fact I waited till after I paid in advance before I posted this review . As mentioned before its 3 blocks from nana station and walking distance to the night market. I also read the other review about this hotel and I the think it was about a different top inn. This hotel is nowhere near khao San road . I can honestly say that while it was in the nana area the evenings were very quiet in the room( mine was on the 4th floor) . Amenities here are sparse , the tv is an old CRT, there is no gym and no breakfast provided . This would rank as a 4 star hotel in north America . Another great thing about the top inn was the fact that it shares ownership with a travel agency. The agent actually spoke fluent English and gave fair booking rates. The staff at the front I think are all related or really really close , it's definitely a family run hotel and not a chain. I'm glad I found this hidden gem in the heart of Bangkok !
