Elite Thai cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) cv. Rayong 90, Kasetsart 50 and
Hauybong 60 and Manihot glaciovii wild species were studied for in vitro callus induction and
plant regeneration on modified MS (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) media with various
concentration of BA and IBA. The in vitro-grown plants were successfully established by a
simple protocol. The friable embryogenic callus from lateral buds of Hauybong 60 was induced,
and the plantlets were eventually develop from embryos. This would be further used for genetic
transformation of new traits to Thai cassava.
