The bubble-like, spongy, raised portion of a roofing membrane, ranging in size from 1 inch in diameter and barely detectable height to as much as 50 square feet in area and 1 foot high. Blisters result from pressure of entrapped air or water vapor, expanding under heat from sunlight.
