Antibacterial activity of extracts,fractions,or purified compound can be assessed and the minimal inhibitory concentration value determined by this assay. Sufficient amounts of dried crude extracts are dissolved in dimethy sulfoxide to obtain stock solution of 5 mg/ml concentration. For purifiend compound, the concentration is normally 1 mg/ml. Ciprofloxacin or any other broad-spectrum antibiotic could be use as a positive control.
