reduced the number of SA on the isolation plates from 5.3 to
2.2 log 10 cfu g dry soil ?1 with a concurrent significant increase
(P < 0.05) in the number of NSA from 1.8 to 4.1 log 10
cfu g dry soil ?1 . Actinomadura, Dactylosporangium, Micromonospora, Microbispora, Microtetraspora and Streptosporangium spp. were readily isolated using the dry-heat technique.
