2.5 Hydrant Fuel Line System in Airfield Pavement
The hydrant system consists of a network of the fuel pipeline connecting to the fuel tanks on the east of the airport as shown in Figure 18. Small fuel pipes were laid around the main apron zone. Unfortunately, limited information was obtained due to unavailability of involved parties at this stage. The fuel lines were brought to the attention because of the possibility of isolating the drainage of the sand blanket in the main apron area. The influence of the pipeline is not considered in this evaluation due to limited data, but it should be kept in mind that the fuel lines may affect the subsurface water passage if the backfilled material used was less permeable than the sand blanket material.
