VISITOR’ VISA FOR VISIT EXCEEDING 3 MONTHS (90 DAYS)
Voluntary or Charitable Activities, Research, Academic Sabbaticals or other prescribed activities and cases.
Requirements
• Passport valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of the intended date of departure from South Africa.
• One recent colour Photo (35 mm x 45 mm)
• A fully completed application form DHA-1738, signed by the applicant.
• Prescribed fee, THB 2,350.
• Proof of a valid return air ticket or booking (onward/return).
• Original police clearances from all countries he/she lived in, for a period of 12 months or longer. The police clearances certificate not longer than 6 months.
• BI-811 medical certificate (report) and BI-806 radiological report.
• Proof of accommodation arrangement ie hotel reservation or confirmation from the host in South Africa with proof of the host’s legal status in South Africa (certified copy of I.D. Book/ passport if South African citizen, or certified copies of passport and residence status in South Africa if foreigner.
• In the case of the spouse or dependent child of the holder of a temporary residence visa; the applicant must submit statement and/or documentation confirming purpose and duration of visit (parent’s /spouse’s work visa)
• In the case of voluntary or charitable activities; the applicant must submit a letter from the organisation where the service will be rendered, confirming the nature and period of the services and that it is voluntary (not a paid post).
• In the case of research activities; the applicant must submit a letter from the educational institution concerned, confirming the nature and period of the research.
• Proof of sufficient financial means by means of -
1. Certified three months bank statement;
2. An undertaking, supported by a bank statement or salary advice, by a South African citizen or permanent resident that he or she will be hosting the applicant and accepting responsibility for the costs related to the maintenance and removal of the applicant from South Africa; or
• In respect of minor dependent children accompanying the applicant to or joining the applicant in the Republic, be accompanied by-
1. Proof of consent of consent from one or both parents or legal guardian, as the case may be, in the form of a letter. A letter of consent must legalize by Legalization Division of Consular Affairs Department at the country of birth.
2. Where applicable, a copy of a court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights in respect of the child. English translation has to be taken to Legalization Division of Consular Affairs Department at the country of birth.
3. Original and a copy of unabridged birth certificate. English translation has to be taken to Legalization Division of Consular Affairs Department at the country of birth.
• In respect of a spouse accompanying the applicant or joining the applicant in the Republic, a copy of a marriage certificate or proof of a relationship as contemplated in regulation 3.
• Foreigners have to submit the original work permit and proof of residence in Thailand/Myanmar/Lao/Cambodia. If not in possession of aforementioned, visa application has to be submitted in the country of residence of the nearest South African mission.
• Original and a copy of a yellow fever vaccination certificate, if the application travelled or intends travelling from or transit through a yellow fever endemic area.
• Processing period: 10 working days. The applicant must submit the application in person.
