Environmental pollution by chemical materials is causing increasingly serious problems with developments in chemical technology [1]. Many persistent organic pollutants, which are highly toxic and hazardous to human health and ecosystems, are present in industrial wastewaters from chemical factories. The biodegradability of these compounds is low, i.e., they do not decompose naturally, therefore persistent organic pollutants remain in the environment for a long time and cause environmental pollution. Activated sludge treatment, activated carbon treatment, and solid–liquid separation are the main water treatment methods, but complete decomposition of persistent organic pollutants by these methods is difficult [2], [3], [4], [5] and [6]. Currently, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are attracting attention as techniques for removing persistent organic pollutants.
