While such substitutions for (v) are quite predictable given the
differences between Thai and English sound systems, there has been no
detailed investigation of the actual relative frequencies of occurrence for
these substitutions in real speech, or of situational factors such as degree
of formality which may play a role in determining which phonetic variant
is realized or is realized more frequently at any given time.
