Accordingly, there should be continuous studies on Yakson to assess the effect on the stress of preterm infants under various NICU conditions and to explain the causeeffect results of the Yakson intervention. Future research should include a larger sample size with a longitudinal
design to accommodate the post-NICU period and to examine the effect of Yakson on later developmental outcomes. Preterm infants would ultimately go home where their parents would be their primary caregivers; therefore, it would be valuable to test the effect of Yakson conducted by their parents. In this future study, Yakson’s effect on the attachment between preterm infants and their parents can also be examined. The differences in Yakson’s effectiveness when administered by different types of caregivers, such as between NICU nurses and parents, need to be examined. Another area of possible future studies would be comparing
the effect between touching interventions and infant massage. Infant massage gives more stimulation than either
