A B-scan image is a two-dimensional view of a crosssectional plane of the part under inspection. In the B-scan, the received signal amplitude obtained at successive inspected
points performing a line is composed of the echoes coming from cracks or discontinuities
at different depths of the part. B-scan images show a vertical cut of the part under
test where color changes in the images are related either to porosity or to discontinuities due to cracks.
