If there is congruence between the expectations of the
truster and behaviours of the trustee, several positive outcomes
may occur. These include a sense of being valued
(Pask 1995); development of a therapeutic relationship
(Meize-Grochowski 1984); and stability in the therapeutic
relationship (Johns 1996). In addition, there is reinforcement
of trust because congruence enables the truster to have confidence that the trustee will meet their identified
needs
