The Change Needed in Education System in Thailand
Firstly, the budget allocation of the government in Thai education system is ineffective. This cause many effects such as the inequality of educational resources between urban school and suburban school. It was found that science equipment or the sports equipment doesn't exist in a lot of schools which resulting in losing the opportunity to develop the student’s potential. Moreover, the outdated-technology is not suitable for learning at the present because now there will be more and more development in technology, if we still have an outdated-technology it would left us behind. Therefore, it's important to note that policymakers need to increase the use of modern techniques of teaching, while also introducing technologies into the teaching systems. This paradigm shift requires resources as well as investment to improve teacher training curriculum and capacity building of in-service teachers. Therefore, we need to improve education management information systems and involvement of private sectors and other stakeholders to ensure quality as well as equitable access to education. We also need to see more investment in the education sector, improve the monitoring process and increase the involvement of communities in the policy formulation and monitoring process.
The future increasingly requires that people be more creative and innovative, with skills and competencies which would enable them to adapt to the changing world. But for this to happen, we need to change our education systems now.
The training helped us to learn not just about education policy formulation and monitoring but also helped to build relationships between government officials, representatives of NGOs, donor agencies and the private sector, which will help strengthen our work and our advocacy agenda in education policy.
